The third edition of the rugby sevens at the Youth Olympic Games will kick off once again as the world expects to be graced with remarkable young talents.
The rugby tournament will officially kick off a day after the opening ceremony that will occur on 31 October. This event would mark an important milestone for the African continent as it will be the first ever Olympic sporting event to be staged on African soil. Around 2,700 young athletes are expected to compete across 25 competition sports.
The rugby games will feature eight men’s and eight women’s rugby sevens teams divided into two pools of four teams.
Women’s Qualified Teams:
Australia, China, Kenya and hosts Senegal will fight out in Pool A, while Pool B will have Czechia, Madagascar, Spain and USA.
Men’s Qualified Teams:
Canada, Germany, Senegal and South Africa are involved in Pool A while Argentina, France, Japan and Samoa face off in Pool B.
