Bologna and Torino shared the spoils in a hard-fought 1–1 draw at the Renato Dall’Ara on Saturday, with Sandro Kulenović’s second-half equaliser cancelling out Federico Bernardeschi’s early opener.
Bologna started brightly under new head coach Raffaele Palladino, who was taking charge of the club for the first time. Their pressure paid off in the 14th minute when Bernardeschi finished from Juan Miranda’s cross after Nicolò Cambiaghi had won possession in midfield and launched the attack.
The hosts continued to threaten, with Bernardeschi coming close to doubling the advantage after a counter-attack. Torino, however, gradually grew into the contest. Rolando Mandragora provided an attacking outlet from midfield, while Nikola Vlašić operated between the lines as the visitors searched for an equaliser.
Torino eventually found their reward in the 77th minute. After Bologna lost possession in midfield, Kulenović surged forward before unleashing a low effort that slipped through goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski’s hands and found the net.
The equaliser transformed the closing stages as both sides looked for a decisive second goal, but neither could produce the finishing touch required to claim all three points.
Kulenović proved particularly influential after coming off the bench, with Sofascore naming him its highest-rated player of the match after his equaliser. Mandragora also impressed, registering five key passes according to Sofascore’s match data.
For Bologna, the result extended a difficult opening to the campaign, while Torino continued a mixed start after entering the fixture with three defeats from their opening four league matches.
Ultimately, Bologna had the perfect start but Torino showed enough resilience to fight back and leave the Renato Dall’Ara with a valuable point.
